Youth Programs

Ahavath Torah Congregation's Youth Program is called South Area USY (SAUSY). Our objective is to provide young people with an opportunity to meet and have fun while learning more about our Jewish heritage.

There are a wide variety of social, cultural, and recreational activities for Jewish children in grades 3-12. Programs are designed to develop a social consciousness through participation in social action projects within the community. We believe that strong youth programming is an important supplement to formal Jewish education and helps to establish lifelong Jewish involvement along with forming friendships that will last for a lifetime. Our teen board bases programming on the concept of fun things they would do on their own with their friends and incorporate it into USY. Also, every program incorporates social action and Jewish identity.

Our youth program is divided into three autonomous groups: Kadima (grades 3-5), Junior USY (grades 6-8), and Senior USY serves grades 9-12.

We have so many fun events scheduled each year; there is something for everyone! Events include Laser tag and jump park, Supercharged, Cupcake decorating event and movie night, Storrs Adventure Park,  ice skating, baking and events and many more!

We are looking forward to another fun year!
